Accountant - month-end close (Indianapolis, IN)

Cedar Fox Property Management is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for vendor invoices, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 98 people based in Indianapolis. What you will do • Track costs around unit turnovers against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with vendor invoices.
