Accountant - month-end close (Houston, TX)

Silverline Ridge Auto Group operates automotive service and parts businesses around Houston, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 340 people based in Houston. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around parts orders against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with supplier deliveries. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Houston, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
