Accountant - month-end close (Houston, TX)

Highbridge Cobalt Auto Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for service appointments, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Technicians are respected and trained. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around parts orders against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with service appointments. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
