Accountant - month-end close (Houston, TX)

Clearpath Iron Early Learning is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for licensing records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 93 people based in Houston. What you will do • Track costs around meal programmes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with licensing records.
