Accountant - month-end close (Honolulu, HI)

We are growing our team at Highbridge Thistle Early Learning and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around licensing records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meal programmes, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with meal programmes. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Honolulu, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
