Accountant - month-end close (Honolulu, HI)

Highbridge Vista Financial provides savings, lending and payment services from Honolulu, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to payment disputes, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around vendor spend against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with payment disputes. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Honolulu, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
