Accountant - month-end close (Honolulu, HI)

Ironwood Lakeside Freight coordinates shipments and warehousing around Honolulu, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 44 people based in Honolulu. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around claims against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with loads and lanes. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Honolulu. • We reply to every applicant.
