Accountant - month-end close (Honolulu, HI)

Nova Juniper Inspection Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for client sites, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Training and certification are paid for. What you will do • Track costs around certifications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client sites, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with client sites. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Honolulu. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
