Accountant - month-end close (Honolulu, HI)

Stonegate Bridge Farms supplies farm and food customers across the Honolulu region. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 144 people based in Honolulu. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to field records, and clear open items. • Track costs around packing house output against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with field records. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Honolulu. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
