Accountant - month-end close (Hartford, CT)

Ironwood Cobalt Medical designs and makes medical devices in Hartford. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. Patient safety shapes every decision. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to device records, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around production lots against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with device records. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Hartford, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
