Accountant - month-end close (Fresno, CA)

Ironwood Pine Water Authority Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for treatment plant data, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. What you will do • Track costs around pipe repairs against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to treatment plant data, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with treatment plant data. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
