Accountant - month-end close (Fresno, CA)

Northwind Cedar Hospitality runs guest-focused properties across the Fresno area, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. Promotion from within is common. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around supplier orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with food costs. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Fresno, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
