Accountant - month-end close (Fresno, CA)

Amberfield Sable Staffing is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for candidate screening, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around onboarding against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to candidate screening, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with candidate screening. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Fresno. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
