Accountant - month-end close (Fresno, CA)

Ironwood Lantern Learning Group runs classrooms and tutoring across the Fresno area, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 52 people based in Fresno. What you will do • Track costs around attendance records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with learning materials. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Fresno. • We reply to every applicant.
