Accountant - month-end close (Fresno, CA)

Fernwood Drift Hospitality is a hospitality company in Fresno with restaurants, rooms and catering, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Fresno. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to group events, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with group events. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Fresno. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
