Accountant - month-end close (Fresno, CA)

We are growing our team at Silverline Meridian Legal Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 45 people based in Fresno. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around trust accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Fresno. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
