Accountant - month-end close (Fresno, CA)

Foxglove Summit Learning Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for attendance records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Collaboration between teachers and staff is strong. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to attendance records, and clear open items. • Track costs around school calendars against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with attendance records. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Fresno. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
