Accountant - month-end close (Fresno, CA)

Northwind Mill Legal Group is a law firm in Fresno serving businesses and individuals, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. We are a close group and share the work. What you will do • Track costs around billing records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to intake forms, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with intake forms. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Fresno. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
