Accountant - month-end close (Fort Worth, TX)

Westbrook Early Learning is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for family communication, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 176 people based in Fort Worth. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around tuition and subsidies against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to family communication, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
