Accountant - month-end close (Fort Worth, TX)

Redstone Lantern Learning Group Associates operates schools and learning programmes around Fort Worth. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 13 people based in Fort Worth. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to student accounts, and clear open items. • Track costs around school calendars against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with student accounts. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Fort Worth, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
