Accountant - month-end close (El Paso, TX)

Stonegate Yarrow Legal Group is a law firm in El Paso serving businesses and individuals. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. We are a close group and share the work. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client files, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around billing records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with client files. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in El Paso. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
