Accountant - month-end close (El Paso, TX)

Harborlight Ember Community Partners runs community programmes across El Paso. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. We are small enough to know everyone's name. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around donor records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with grant reporting. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in El Paso. • We reply to every applicant.
