Accountant - month-end close (El Paso, TX)

Greenridge Cobalt Manufacturing is a El Paso manufacturer supplying regional industrial customers, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 32 people based in El Paso. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around machine downtime against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with production lines. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in El Paso. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
