Accountant - month-end close (El Paso, TX)

Amberfield Pine Staffing connects candidates and employers across the El Paso region. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 830 people based in El Paso. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to timekeeping, and clear open items. • Track costs around candidate screening against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in El Paso. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
