Accountant - month-end close (Detroit, MI)

Foxglove Yarrow Inspection Services provides independent inspection and testing for industry across Detroit. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Detroit. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with scheduling. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Detroit. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
