Accountant - month-end close (Detroit, MI)

Lumen Fox Staffing is a Detroit staffing firm for warehouse, office and healthcare roles, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around timekeeping against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with temp assignments. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Detroit. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
