Accountant - month-end close (Detroit, MI)

We are growing our team at Clearpath Haven Pharma and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 521 people based in Detroit. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to clinical studies, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with clinical studies. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Detroit. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
