Accountant - month-end close (Detroit, MI)

Stonegate Orchard Care Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for caregiver training, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. The work is personal and so is the culture. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to caregiver training, and clear open items. • Track costs around client records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with caregiver training. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Detroit. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
