Accountant - month-end close (Denver, CO)

Ironwood Community Partners is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for volunteer shifts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 350 people based in Denver. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around food distribution against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to volunteer shifts, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with volunteer shifts. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Denver. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
