Accountant - month-end close (Denver, CO)

We are growing our team at Bluepeak Clear Foods and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with allergen controls. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Denver. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
