Accountant - month-end close (Dallas, TX)

Highbridge Umber Telecom builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the Dallas area, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to field visits, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around outage reports against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with field visits. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Dallas, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
