Accountant - month-end close (Dallas, TX)

Nova Hollow Freight Group coordinates shipments and warehousing around Dallas. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to dock schedules, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with dock schedules. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Dallas. • We reply to every applicant.
