Accountant - month-end close (Dallas, TX)

Nova Harbor Transit Planning plans bus and rail service for cities around Dallas. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Dallas. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to accessibility audits, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around fare systems against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with accessibility audits. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Dallas. • We reply to every applicant.
