Accountant - month-end close (Columbus, OH)

Highbridge Telecom Group is a telecommunications provider in Columbus focused on reliable home and business connections, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 197 people based in Columbus. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to outage reports, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around customer tickets against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with outage reports. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Columbus. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
