Accountant - month-end close (Columbus, OH)

We are growing our team at Silverline Wren Energy and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to outage response, and clear open items. • Track costs around usage data against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Columbus. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
