Accountant - month-end close (Columbus, OH)

Summit Junction Staffing is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for client orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 965 people based in Columbus. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client orders, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with client orders. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Columbus, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
