Accountant - month-end close (Colorado Springs, CO)

We are growing our team at Cedar Cobalt Press and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 177 people based in Colorado Springs. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to proofing, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around print quotes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with proofing. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Colorado Springs. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
