Accountant - month-end close (Colorado Springs, CO)

Amberfield Kestrel Financial Group provides savings, lending and payment services from Colorado Springs. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 152 people based in Colorado Springs. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around vendor spend against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to account servicing, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Colorado Springs. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
