Accountant - month-end close (Cleveland, OH)

Cedar Birch Facilities looks after properties across the Cleveland region. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 74 people based in Cleveland. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to contractor visits, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around supply orders against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with contractor visits. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Cleveland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
