Accountant - month-end close (Cincinnati, OH)

Foxglove North Construction Group builds commercial and industrial projects around Cincinnati, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. We build things that last and we are honest about schedules. What you will do • Track costs around change orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with subcontractor invoices. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Cincinnati, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
