Accountant - month-end close (Cincinnati, OH)

Cedar Oak Facilities is a facilities company in Cincinnati with crews on day and night shifts, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 25 people based in Cincinnati. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around customer sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to contractor visits, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with contractor visits. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Cincinnati, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
