Accountant - month-end close (Cincinnati, OH)

Harborlight Hollow Arts Center is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for school partnerships, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to school partnerships, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around exhibitions against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with school partnerships. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Cincinnati, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
