Accountant - month-end close (Cincinnati, OH)

We are growing our team at Lumen Kestrel Press Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 171 people based in Cincinnati. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to paper stock, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with paper stock. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Cincinnati. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
