Accountant - month-end close (Cincinnati, OH)

Lumen Hollow Farms supplies farm and food customers across the Cincinnati region. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 31 people based in Cincinnati. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around packing house output against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with field records. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Cincinnati. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
