Accountant - month-end close (Chicago, IL)

Greenridge Loom Pharma develops and makes medicines in Chicago, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 14 people based in Chicago. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with clinical studies. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Chicago. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
