Accountant - month-end close (Charlotte, NC)

Bluepeak Fern Environmental Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for weigh tickets, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 471 people based in Charlotte. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around service complaints against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with weigh tickets. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Charlotte, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
