Accountant - month-end close (Charlotte, NC)

We are growing our team at Bluepeak Iron Staffing and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. Recruiters here keep in touch with people long after placement. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client orders, and clear open items. • Track costs around temp assignments against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with client orders. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Charlotte. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
