Accountant - month-end close (Charlotte, NC)

Silverline Corner Press prints books, catalogues and packaging from its Charlotte plant, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. We like people who notice details. What you will do • Track costs around paper stock against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to bindery work, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with bindery work. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Charlotte. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
