Accountant - month-end close (Charlotte, NC)

Highbridge Nest Community Partners runs community programmes across Charlotte. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 947 people based in Charlotte. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around benefits enrolment against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to food distribution, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with food distribution. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Charlotte. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
