Accountant - month-end close (Charleston, SC)

Greenridge Kestrel Press prints books, catalogues and packaging from its Charleston plant. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. We like people who notice details. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around print quotes against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with proofing. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Charleston. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
